Chagit
Zelcer studied art and graphic design at the School of Visual
Arts in N.Y.C.
Upon
making aliya in 1978 she began designing and handcrafting Shabbat
and Pesach covers. The success of these pieces led to a wide range
of products which include:
Various
techniques of applique in a wide assortment of fabrics, embroidery,
and hand-painted motifs are applied, resulting in a traditional
yet original and unique work of art.
Her
work has been exhibited in the Yeshiva University Museum in N.Y.,
is currently on display in the Wolfson Museum and Judaica Heirlooms
Gallery in Jerusalem, and can be found in Synagogues and private
collections in Israel and throughout the world.
